New Largest Prime Found

Via Making Light, we get this news:

... researchers at Central Missouri State University have discovered the largest prime number so far, clocking in at 9.1 million digits. It’s 230402457-1. If anyone finds a 10-million-digit prime it’s worth $100,000 in prize money. Plus fame and praise.

Maybe we can work on that next weekend.

Sorry Smashed,
Got no time to serarch for the next prime this weekend. Lance came down with a bad case of 7b! The instrument boots with the message, “The application failed to initialize properly, 0xC000007b”. I hate when that happens. Perhaps he was not wearing his helmet.
